when your flight gets {delayed} & then get {sick} on vacation

Hello All :)

I know, I know ... I have been

SOOO {MIA}

I have been away on vacation and school kinda, sorta, got in the way.

But I am back, for right now at least ;)

I don't know where to start!??

Well after I got done taking my first two tests of nursing school (I did pretty well on them), I hopped on a plane to Florida to visit my boyfriend's family. His sister from Scottsdale, AZ came into town and his other sister lives in Fort Myers, so we stayed with them.

Well, let me tell you, it was NOT an easy time getting to Florida.

So, long story short ... my plane from Columbus had a mechanical issue, so we didn't leave until late which made me miss my connection in Atlanta :(

I got to Atlanta with no connection flight to FL and had to make a decision on what to do!?

Spend the night in ATL and not get to FL until 6pm the next day!? OR hop on a plane to Baltimore, MD to get a flight out the next morning to Fort Myers ... UGH.

Are you kidding me!?

So, I got on the plane to MD (for another 2 hours!) ...

arrived in Baltimore around 12:30 am ... had to stay in a janky ass hotel in MD.

This was the grossest hotel EVER and the room next to me was all boarded up!?

WTF, did someone die next door!?

UGH.

Woke up the next morning, got on a plane to Florida and arrived around 11:30 am.

Whelp. I made it.

Just wait, it gets better.

I noticed a rash on my stomach and back a couple days earlier, thought nothing of it!?

Then it started to hurt a little bit.

Rick's brother-in-law is a doctor, so I had him look at this weird rash.

OK, so ... what was it!?

Shingles.

(Sorry if this grosses some of you out, but this is what it looked like and actually this is as bad as it got, usually people get them really bad, but luckily mine weren't TOO bad).

Who gets shingles!??

So .. I got shingles from stress, I guess!?

Apparently it lives dormant in your immune system for years and can just POP up.

But, you have to have had Chicken Pox already.

Rick hasn't had Chicken Pox, so he was like freaking out and didn't want to touch me :(
(EVEN though he had the chicken pox vaccine)

Man, this wasn't the greatest trip for me.
ha.

All in all, it was nice to get away, but I had a lot of issues on this trip.

And to make matters worse, we were supposed to stay with Rick's sister, but since she has a tiny one month old baby girl, we had to stay at Rick's parents because they didn't want me to give shingles to the baby (which is understandable).

ANYHOW.

How are all of you!?

I am so behind on reading on of your blogs, I think I will need a whole day to catch up on all of your lives.
So sorry for my absence!

I know ... not the most interesting of blog posts today, but had to explain to you all what has been going on!!
It's been a rough week!
