fill in the blank friday

i'm filling in the blanks with lauren over at

the little things we do

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is, hit the snooze. Usually twice. Then hop in the shower.

2.   I can hardly wait for   summer and warm weather. I am sick of this Spring one day, Winter the next. Com'on summer!

3.  The quickest way to my heart is   a card from my boyfriend    because   as many times as he says, 'I love you' ... it always sounds different when you read it and its in their own handwriting :)

4. A little known fact about me is that   I am a very sensitive person, I don't let things go easy and I forgive but never forget.

5. The best part about my job is    that its pretty laid back and not that stressful. I can get on the Internet and not get in trouble, although I probably am on the Internet more than I should ...

6. Something I just couldn't live without is    my boyfriend. Sounds so cheesy, but its the first thing that came to my mind.

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is  hair. I am just not good at doing my own hair or other people's hair for that matter. I am so envious of girls that can style their hair so nice and perfect.

color war

1.  My favorite color is  Coral. Love, love, love this color. I think it is very flattering on many people and I think it looks good with a tan too :)

2.   My home decor color palette includes  black, gold, tan, neutrals, sounds boring, I know - but all the colors flow. A hint of red in there too. I have been on Pinterest lately and am loving rooms that are decorated in gray and yellow. Those colors together look so clean and fresh!

3.  Other people always tell me I look good in   bright colors.

 

4. The color I detest   Pastels. I guess I am thinking more about home decor. I hate when you walk in someones house and its old fashion looking. With dull colors and outdated furniture ...yuck!

5. If you were to look in my closet most of the colors you'd see would be   black, neutrals, white, corals, blues, creams ... I think I need to spice up my closet for the Spring :)

 

6. A color that I simply cannot pull off no matter how hard I try is   green ... I dont buy too many green colored clothes?

7.  The color of my favorite dress is  the dress I wore to my best friend's rehearsal dinner. I got it from H&M a few years ago. I think I have worn it once since. It is a littttle on the short side, but its cute and I always get lots of compliments on it.

Hi loves!

How is everyone today!?

Just catching up on all your blogs since I neglected to get online like

at all yesterday and forgot to blog myself ...

moving on ...

I found this cute Camera Case over the weekend at none other than Big Lots

for $3.00 ... yes 3 bucks! Its super cute and I needed a new case anyway :)

Big Lots is kinda like the dollar store, so you kind

of have to pick and choose items you buy there!

New edition to our household. New plants!

When we visit Rick's parent's condo in Florida, it always feels SO homey and

his mom decorates with lots of palms and trees so by adding a few trees in our house, it

feels a little more like Florida ... kinda ... :)

I bought the "tree" part at Garden Ridge for 15 bucks each.

 I know, kind of expensive but ALL the plants were that expensive.

I also bought the pots at Garden Ridge, they were 25 bucks each ... not too bad.

Also, I found a new protein bar that has 0 grams of sugar that

don't taste bad, they are actually really yummy!

Think Thin Bars.

Try 'em .. they are good and no sugar = win, win.

Lastly, so stoked that Giuliana and Bill Rancic are expecting!

They chose to use a gestational surrogate.

I really got into their show this season because

I was interested to see the struggles that this couple has been

going through with Giuliana having breast cancer and

their battle with trying to get pregnant.

 I just admire this woman so much, she is so inspiring.

So happy for them!!

Congrats Guilana and Bill :)

(since I know you are reading this, haha)

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday, thank you for coming so quickly this week. I am ready to sleep in and enjoy the weekend. Dear Work, work sucks in general so could you please at least provide me with some decent coffee to get me through the workday? (Maxwell House is NOT cutting it!) Dear Headache, you have lasted for way too long, please, please GO AWAY! Dear The Lucky One, I cannot wait to see you :) Dear Florida, I miss you and I just saw you. I need the beach in my life. Heck, I just need to move to the beach. Dear Pharmacology Test, I really don't want to study and take your test this weekend. Dear Ohio Weather, can you please just stay at one temperature? One day 75 degrees and the next day 45 degrees ... geesh! Make up your mind! Dear Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, why are you not coming to Columbus this summer for your tour? Must I really travel to see you? I guess so! Dear Swimsuit Season, you are really creeping up on me. Must hit the gym hard next week! Dear Power Crunch Bar, thank you for being so tasty this morning. Most protein bars taste like sh*t but YOU surprisingly tasted like a candy bar :)

What I am lovin' Wednesday!

OK, so over the weekend the BF and I made a trip to our outlet malls

(about 45 minutes away)

It was POURING rain the entire time we were there, so we were

running (literally) from store to store ALL day!

What did I find!?

Eh, not TOO much!

But what I DID find, I am lovin' ...

Like both these pairs of shorts.

The jean shorts? Banana Republic - $19.99

Nike Shorts? $19.99

Brooks Tennis Shoes

NOT from the outlets, but I paid $89.99

Let me tell you it was the best $89 dollars I spent all weekend :)

I tried these babies out last night, while I was getting my workout on with THIS lady :)

These are well worth the money!

LOVE them!

Mossimo wedges? Well else, but TARGET.

These were on clearance for $14.98 - steal!

It's a 10

I did buy this at the outlet mall.

I think I paid around $10 bucks for this, but it makes your

hair soo silky smooth :)

I found this Shampoo/Conditioner at Target too

(but I'm sure you can get this anywhere)

I have a hard time finding Shampoo/Conditioner that actually makes my

hair feel smooth and well this Shampoo does just that - I think each

bottle is around $7.00.

Another great find this weekend.

I don't LOVE cranberry juice, but THIS tastes very yummy!

One can, only 10 calories :)

(this was also found at Target - duh!)

I am also LOVING this dessert my friend, Kelly made us over the weekend.

OMG this is the best thing I ever put in my mouth.

Strawberry Shortcake.

Its Thursday and its ok ...

its OK ...

that I didn't end up going to the gym last night (sorry Katie - love you!)

and went tanning instead (I know, I know, not good for me)

I want to go on vacation even though I JUST got back from vacation.

that the best part of my day yesterday was getting a new computer at work.

that I really, really enjoy reality TV.

OC housewives, Bethenny Ever After, Bachelorette ...

and I can even watch episodes that I've seen over and over and over. 

to just sit around and watch TV, paint my fingernails, or dive into a good book.

Since I am not a full-time student anymore, I have so much more free time.

Currently reading. Cannot wait to see movie.

I'm not dirty messy, but my clothes are ALL OVER the place in our house.

I need more drawers/space to keep all my stuff!

that the quarter started like two weeks ago and
I haven't even cracked open my book ... oops!

that I just want the weather to be warm!

I want to lay by the pool! :)

that I've been pinning wedding stuff on Pinterest lately.

it's kinda weird, I know, but I feel like if I don't start planning NOW ...

I may not be ready for when I actually DO have to plan a wedding.

(oh, and you may or may not have seen me pin a few engagement rings, hey, a girl can look right!?)

 am going to have for lunch already.

that I went into Target the other day for ONE thing and came out with like 12 things and spent over 50 bucks.

Over the weekend I decided to make

Hash Brown Quiche

A colleague of mine makes this dish and bring it in for us on occasion.

It is really simple and tastes yummy!

Ingredients:

6 Cups of frozen shredded hash browns thawed and drained. Moisture can be squeezed out of them with paper towels.

8 Tbs of melted butter (1 stick)

6 large eggs beaten

2 cups of half and half

1 1/2 cups of diced cooked ham. You can buy the pre-diced ham in a 8 oz package. I used a small diced variety. Anything will do. It is located next to the bacon in the refrigerated aisle.

1 cup diced green onions

2 cups shredded cheddar  cheese or any shredded cheese of your choosing.  A Mexican or Italian blend is good to use.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Recipe:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Toss hash browns with the melted butter in a bowl and transfer to a 9 X 13 greased baking dish. Press on them into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes till somewhat crisp.

In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. When hash brown crust is ready, pour the egg mixture over the hash browns and return to the oven. Lower temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes until the top is puffed and light golden brown on top. Can be frozen and reheated.

This recipe can be cut in half and used in an 8 X 8 Baking dish or pie plate.

After hash browns have been cooked for 20 minutes (slightly browned)

Mix eggs and all other ingredients in large bowl

Pour egg mixture on top of cooked hash browns

And cook for another 30 minutes or so and

there you have it!

I was afraid that my boyfriend wouldn't like this because he said he "didn't like quiche" even though I am not sure if he had even had it before, but this tastes more like an omelet with hash browns on the bottom :)

Thinking about getting a ...

... {dog}

Like so many of you all I have a "cuteness" category on my

Pinterest board.

Everyday I find myself "pinning" cute little doggies that I want to own.

My boyfriend and I have been thinking about getting a little doggie to join our family.

My question to all of you is ... which bread is the best and what should we get!?

(would like a family friendly dog, not like we are starting a family anytime soon, but ya know ... in the next couple of years)

My boyfriend likes Goldens. I think Beagles are cute.

Labs are also adorbs :)

I don't want anything TOO big and also don't want an animal that sheds too much.

Suggestions!?!?
